in 1961 by the International Theater Institute
(ITI), World Theater Day (WTD) is celebrated
annually on the 27th of March by ITI Centers
and international theater community.
A
prominent figure in the field of theater issues
a message every year, sharing his reflections
on theater and international harmony.
Edward
Albee, Augusto Boal, Jean Cocteau, Arthur
Miller, Pablo Neruda, Laurence Olivier, and
Helen Weigel are among the celebrities who
have issued the WTD message so far.
