Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI)

The Seychelles Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) or The Chamber as it is commonly referred to, is the recognized representative of the private sector. With a wide variety of membership base the chamber covers all business sectors which are the driving force of Seychelles economy.

The core objective of the Chamber is to create a conducive environment for which free enterprise can operate smoothly, grow and create wealth for the community at large. The vision of the SCCI is to seek partnership to develop a positive business climate, improve and enhance the economic vitality and the quality of life for the community.

The Role of the Chamber is to provide practical help and support to its members in dealing with the day to day problems arising in the business community. The SCCI also plays an active role in discussing policies and matters affecting the economy with the Government and engages in discussion with NGO’s on matter affecting the civil society. The Chamber also meets with international and regional bodies to discuss current situations and recommend necessary solutions.

The management and affairs of the Chamber is directed by a board of 16Councilors including a Chairman, Vice Chairman and a Treasurer. The Board meets once a month. The Councilors are from various sectors of the economy. The day to day running of the Chamber is taken care by the Secretary General. The Chamber has four permanent Staff, the Secretary General, an Executive Secretary, a Personal Assistant/Trade Promotion Officer and a Driver/Messenger/Clerk.
