Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry was established by an Amiri
decree issued in 1970 by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in order
to effectively and vitally participate in the organization of economic
life and the prosperity of its trade, industry and professions sectors
on all levels and in cooperation with the concerned establishments and
bodies and local departments.
Thus, the chamber is keen to include in its membership all the companies
and establishments practicing economic activity in the emirate whether
it is trade, industries or professions. It has been obligatory for the
chamber to follow the economic and civilizational development witnessed
by United Arab Emirates a matter that naturally requires change on the
different services and activities of the chamber. The law No (1) of
the year 1980 organizing the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry
was issued too include the articles of association and the legal rules
and provisions drawing the chamber’s ambitious objects and set
the means for its achievement through administrative and executive body
having positions according to responsibilities.
In 2003 the chamber witnessed quantum and qualitative leap represented
in His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah issuing a new law organizing the
chamber and giving it wider fields and bigger jurisdictions in order
to continue its route with positive contribution in all fields of economy
and investment and to serve the community as a whole.
In 2007 the chamber’s new organizational chart was approved and
an administrative and executive body was set with positions as per the
responsibilities, duties and the nature of services, activities and
jurisdictions in the departments, offices and sections in a manner coinciding
with the new economic boom.
Since 1980 the services and activities of the chamber has covers all
cities in Sharjah City and accordingly the chamber in addition to the
head office has four branches in the cities of Khorfakkan, Kalba, Al
Dhaid, central area and Dibbs Al Hisn in addition to offices and services
of the chamber in the model industrial area and the head office of Sharjah
Economic Development Department and Sharjah free zones. There are also
many other affiliate establishments and organizations working under
the chamber’s umbrella.
The chamber’s board of directors supervises the execution of
the general policy and is working on the means for the success of such
policy and the reflection of the chamber’s role in the local community.
There are also some specialized committees made out of the board of
directors to assume many specializations in the fields of trade, industries,
professions and reconciliation.

The German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK)
was founded in May 2009 and inaugurated by the former German Federal
Minister of Economy and Technology. [more]
The German Industry & Commerce Office, fully integrated upon completion
of the AHK foundation process, had already existed for 10 years in Dubai
and for 5 years in Abu Dhabi at that time.
The AHK is the first bilateral federal business organization as well
as the first international institution on federal level which has been
founded in the Gulf. It has attracted a number of well-known Board Members.

Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry was established in 1965. It
is a private non-profit organization whose mission is to represent,
support and protect the interests of the business community in Dubai.
It does so by creating a favorable business environment; supporting
the development of business; and by promoting Dubai as an international
business hub.
The Dubai Chamber provides a number of services for its 150,000+ members
including dispute resolution (mediation and arbitration), issuing certificates
of origin and ATA Carnets, legal services, receiving foreign commercial
delegations and sending delegates abroad, organizing trade fairs and
economic forums, organizing training programs for entrepreneurs, serving
business groups and councils, providing credit rating services, business
matching services, access to updated research and numerous reports,
and other services that meet help members to network and grow, thereby
enhancing the investment environment in Dubai.

Introduction
The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry is an autonomous institution
of public interest. It enjoys its own legal entity to represent the
various productive and services activities of the private sector in
Abu Dhabi ?Emirate. According to the provisions of the Chamber law,
all natural and legal persons, having their headquarters, branch or
representation office in the Emirate to exercise any commercial, industrial,
vocational or professional activity? in the Emirate must join the Chamber
and get their membership certificates.?
Hence, the Chamber is viewed to be the party concerned with patronizing
the various activities of the private sector. It is among its tasks
and duties to render best services to member firms and companies. Membership
certificates are duly issued to such members who are kept updated on
how to take the utmost advantages of the Chamber services and available
data or information. They are also well apprised of the Chamber’s
regular and occasional functions or events, as well as of its tasks
and duties in general.
Through such data and information, the Chamber members can participate
in various domestic and international functions or events through which
they may be better able to introduce their companies or products. Through
such interaction, the Chamber may have a much clearer vision on their
problems and the obstacles they are facing. Such problems are usually
discussed in a bid to find appropriate solutions. Recommendations seeking
that end may, thereafter be presented to competent authorities requesting
required actions to be taken whenever necessary.
The Chamber is also represented in such boards as those of the UAE-Turkish
Businessmen Board, UAE-Syrian Businessmen Board and the UAE-Indian Businessmen
Board. It is also member in the Federation of the AGCC Chambers of Commerce
& Industry, the Federation of Arab Chambers of Commerce, Industry
& Agriculture, the Islamic Chamber and the Arab Labor Organization.
Such representation, of course comes within the framework of its membership
in the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry.
However, the Chamber has a branch office in Al-Ain city. The said branch
is meeting the demands of the business community in Al-Ain and offers
them whatever services or information they need.
The Chamber has its own web site through which it avails every piece
of information required by the business community in Abu Dhabi and the
UAE at large. The site is also visited by individuals, tourists and
organizations from different world countries.
The Chamber Web Site won the award of Best Web Site in the whole Middle
East Region for the year 1999..
